Our first step – sell our family home and purchase two backpacks. We set a goal of March 2025 to fully retire, sell our family home, and hit the road. Our initial plan was to purchase an RV and travel the US. It then hit us that we are not getting younger and if we want to continue experiencing the types of adventures that previously filled our vacations, that we need to do that now while our bodies are physically capable. As such, we decided to take a transatlantic cruise and begin our new phase of life hiking/walking in Portugal and Spain. No idea where we go next, but our initial goal is to not live anywhere permanently for the next year.
